Gelman LLP Announces Promotions
Gelman LLP recently announced the promotion of Lupe Bello, CCIFP to Audit Supervisor, Joseph Chan, CPA, MAcc to Audit Manager, David Novak, CPA, CCIFP, CGMA to Audit Manager and Irina Pichko, CPA, MST to Tax Supervisor. Bello has eight years of public accounting experience auditing construction contractors, mortgage brokers and bankers and employee benefit plans. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton.
Chan currently provides full service attestation services to construction and engineering clients. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from the University of California, Irvine and Master of Science in Accountancy from California State University, Fullerton.
Novak conducts and manages audits, reviews and compilations of private companies in the construction and manufacturing industries. He also manages 401k and ESOP Plan audits. Novak earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics with a concentration in Accounting from University of California, Santa Barbara.
Pichko has more than 21 years of combined public accounting, tax, accounting and financial management experience. She earned her Master of Science degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University and a Master degree in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Pyatigorsk Technological University.

Rehmann came in at #23 overall, #16 for work-life balance, #17 for client interaction, #17 for diversity for women, #18 for firm leadership and #19 for culture.
Mannatech Announces Promotions
Mannatech®, Incorporated recently announced it has promoted David Johnson, CPA, Chief Accounting Officer, to Chief Financial Officer and Diane Barton, Assistant Controller, to Controller. In his new role, Johnson will lead the company’s accounting, finance and treasury teams, and will have responsibility for reporting financial results to shareholders. He has more than 22 years of public accounting experience.
Barton will have increased responsibility for SEC reporting, accounting policy development, risk management and international accounting functions. She has more than 30 years of public and private accounting experience.
PwC Names New Partner
PricewaterhouseCoopers recently hired Ryan Hayden as a partner in its Advanced Risk and Compliance Analytics practice. In his new role, Hayden will help develop ARCA’s Health Services strategy operations. He has 15 years of experience in healthcare operations, management advisory and data and technology consulting. Hayden received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the State University of New York and Syracuse, his MBA and MS in information technology from Bentley College, and his MS in healthcare informatics from Northeastern University.
Massachusetts Society of CPAs Names New Chairman
The Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants recently elected Carla McCall as the chairman of the board of directors. McCall is currently the co-managing partner of AAFCPA, which provides best-value assurance, tax, business consulting and information technology advisory solutions to nonprofit organizations, commercial companies, wealthy individuals and estates. She specializes in providing assurance, tax and business consulting services to nonprofit organizations and closely-held companies in healthcare, arts and cultural, affordable housing manufacturing and distribution.
Moore Colson Hires New Staff
Moore Colson recently hired six new professionals: Michael Oriade, CISA, FCIS as a Risk Advisory and Compliance Services Senior Associate; Anthony Mercado as a Business Assurance Associate; Heidi Harris as a Corporate Accounting Associate; JoAnna Story as a Business Assurance Associate; and Michelle Przystas as a Tax Services Administrator.
Schiff Hardin Adds Financial Services Investigations Partner
Schiff Hardin LLP recently announced that Michael J. Rivera joined the firm as a partner in the Financial Markets and Products Group. Rivera’s experience includes managing securities and financial investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and Department of Justice. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.S. from St. John’s University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
